Students in 6th grade Spanish played games to practice their Introduction Phrases.
7th grade STEM classes walked to Nourish to do a cooking activity to culminate their biotechnology unit on food preservation.
Mr. Zak taught in Grade 8 math today to deepen his understanding on the new math curriculum, and then debriefed with Mrs. Mullins (Grade 8 teacher) and Mrs. Gehri (Math Specialist) on ideas for furthering student thinking and engagement. We are so lucky to have our leaders as true collaborators in our teaching practices!

Astringent, alimentation, and untenable! These are just a few of the many words the middle school spellers needed to spell while competing in the SFMS spelling bee! In the end, Lucas was our top speller and will be moving on to the regional spelling bee held at Acuity!

Due to an unexpected circumstances, we need to postpone the 6th Grade Band & Choir Concert that was scheduled to be held on Thursday, January 9th. 8th grade STEM students finished Project Mini-Grill, thanks to the sponsorship of Bemis, Aldag-Honold, and HUI. Students learned basic metalwork skills, and had a refresher on why measuring precisely matters in craftsmanship. Great job!

Day 8: The Elf on the Shelf was wrapped up and up to a whole bunch of mischief in the supply closet. Mrs. Dufoor, did you clean up your mess?
Eighth grade STEM students were given the opportunity to tour the Johnsonville plant and learn more about career opportunities. They learned about the company's history, toured part of a production plant, and met with a panel of employees for a Q & A session.
Day 7: The Elf on the Shelf and art students are spreading holiday cheer and laughs! Mrs. Kuznacic and students transformed staff members into elves and Mr. Zak as Santa, bringing Santa's Workshop to life!
Day 6: Oh no! The Elf on the Shelf stole the Zamboni! Ms. Rick gave the Zamboni a festive makeover and zoomed around this morning, spreading Holiday cheer with every turn! 🎄✨🧹🎶
