Canvas - Observer Accounts

Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, we've changed how Canvas observer accounts are created. You are now able to create a Canvas account and link it to one or more students using a pairing code.

Step 1: Generate a Pairing Code

Before you create your account, you'll need a pairing code. Your child can generate a code after logging into her/his Canvas account. Please use the video below or the text instructions found here to generate a code.

Step 2: Creating Your Account

To create your Canvas observer account, go to our Canvas login page. Select "Parent of a Canvas User? Click Here For an Account".

Complete the form, including the pairing code you created in Step 1. Please note that all fields are required. Then, select "Start Participating".

If you'd like to add another student, generate a pairing code using the instructions in Step 1. Then, while logged into your account:

  1. Click Account

  2. Click Observing

  3. Enter the pairing code

  4. Click "+ Student"
