Special Education

“The goal of the Sheboygan Falls Special Education department is to develop the whole child by meeting individual needs, in a collaborative culture, and to instill life-long learning skills as they transition to an active role in our community.”

Eligibility Criteria & Services Provided

The School District of Sheboygan Falls offers a wide range of special education services to students with disabilities. Students suspected of a disability are initially referred for a comprehensive special education evaluation. Students are eligible to receive special education services after both meeting state criteria in one or more state defined disability areas and identifying the need for specially designed instruction. Once a determination for eligibility has been made, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is developed and implemented. Students identified with special education needs are eligible to receive services from ages 3 through 21. The School District of Sheboygan Falls is committed to providing an equal educational opportunity to all children with disabilities within our district. Students in the School District of Sheboygan Falls are entitled to receive their federally guaranteed free, appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment.
